Melanie E. Reed's Obituary
Melanie E. Reed, 68, Yalaha, Florida passed away suddenly at her residence with her loving husband John by her side. Melanie was born on March 8, 1954 in Scranton, Pennsylvania to her parents Anthony “Scotty” Colosimo and Adeline (Paris) Colosimo.
Melanie was a former Branch Manager for the Supervisor of Elections of Lee County in Cape Coral, Florida. She was also employed as a Deputy Sheriff in Scranton, Pennsylvania and had also worked for the United States Postal Service in Scranton where she her husband John. Melanie had moved to Cape Coral, Florida from Scranton, Pennsylvania in 1994 and then to Yalaha in 2016 from Cape Coral. Melanie was of the Catholic faith and had been a member of St. Lucy’s Catholic Church in Scranton, Pennsylvania. Melanie loved to be surrounded by her loving family.
She is survived by her loving husband of 34 years: John E. Reed of Yahala, FL; two sons: Christian DeSantis of Colorado Springs, CO and Derek DeSantis of Fort Myers, FL; a daughter: Courtney DeSantis of Cape Coral, FL; her loving mother: Adeline Colosimo of Scranton, PA; two brothers: Frank Colosimo and Anthony Colosimo both of Scranton, PA; seven grandchildren: Madelynn, Joseph, Allyson, Nicholas, Maddison, Ashley and Alyssa and a great-granddaughter: Neveah.
Melanie was preceded in death by her beloved father, Anthony “Scotty” Colosimo.
The family will be holding a private memorial service at a later date.
