Marilyn S. Parsons' Obituary
Marilyn Seltzer Lasby Bellucci Parsons (84) passed away August 24, 2017
Marilyn was a native of Cortland, New York, who has resided in the Ocala, Fl. Area since 1980. She out lived the three previous men in her life, Glen Lasby, Ben Bellucci and, Patrick Parsons.
She is survived by her children, Kimberly Bellucci Hone, of Merritt Island, Fl; Robin Lasby Navarro of Summerfield , Fl; Gary Lasby, of Ocala, Fl; Debra Lasby of Wildwood, Fl. and Glenda Chiara, of Cortland, NY. She also had several grand children: Jessica O’Brien, Christopher Chiara, David Hartman, Jeffery Chiara, Christina Hartman, and Sophia Navarro along with Great Grandchildren, Emry Hartman and Kennedy Dwyer. She was preceded in death by her grandchild Emelia Navarro.
Marilyn worked at various places in Cortland over her early years, Crescent Corset Company, Betty & Roy’s Restaurant and, TC3 to name a few. She enjoyed sewing doll clothes and bowling.
Once she moved to Ocala, Florida she worked at Rheinaurs, Ocala’s finest clothing store in the 1980’s and several other clothing stores. She finished her career working part time at several chain clothing stores and Blockers furniture store.
Her favorite things to do included visiting the beach and eating seafood, visiting friends at the local Moose Lodge on Maricamp Road in Ocala, having drinks with friends, and dancing. She is still remembered by young and old as that sharply dressed lady dancing the night away at Toucan Dan’s in Silver Springs Shores. She also loved shopping the local thrift stores and Tuesday Mornings for a bargain.
Being one who loved to chat with friends and explore, it was shocking news when she was diagnosed with Alzheimers. We knew her life would not be the same.
For the first few years she stayed at her lovely condo; she had such pride in the colors and the décor. All her kids in the area took turns visiting her daily, keeping her doing the things she loved.
Eventually she moved to an assisted living. She still spent time with her kids, going out to eat, shopping, listening to music and, dancing. As her Alzheimers got worse she was slowly deprived of all that she loved doing. We say good bye to our Mother with a heavy heart, knowing she fought a long courageous fight. She explored every nook and cranny she encountered in this world. She walked every pathway she had the strength to walk. She loved every soul she met, except those who parked in her parking spot!
She was a kind, loving, sweet lady that never got much, never expected much and, never cared about any of that. She just wanted to raise her kinds to be good people and respectable citizens. Mission accomplished Mother.
We love our Mother dearly and she will always be in our hearts. May the band in heaven play her favorite tunes.
