Margaret Mary Weinberg's Obituary
Margaret Mary Weinberg of Leesburg, FL, passed away peacefully at home on her 87th birthday with her beloved husband, Roger, by her side. Margaret was born on October 5, 1935 in Scotland to her loving parents; John and Mary (Melly) Bryceland.
Margaret and her family moved to the United States from Scotland in 1948. She worked as an executive secretary for many years and spent 10 years with the Connell Rice and Sugar Company until her retirement. She met her husband, Roger at the Tower of London, after he bought her an ice cream cone. The adoring couple got married on October 5, 1979 and spent a total of 47 wonderful years together. In 2004, the couple became snowbirds and traveled back and forth from Pennsylvania to Florida until they settled in Leesburg, FL in 2013. While in Florida, Margaret became a devoted member of St. Paul’s Catholic Church.
Margaret was a highly intelligent woman, Roger would describe her as a vociferous reader. She was a member of book clubs that covered topics like scientific and historical research. She read thousands of books. Up until her 80’s, Margaret loved to remain active; she participated in water aerobics and tennis several times a week, and even enjoyed walking three to five miles a day. She was also very social and active in politics among her community.
Margaret was a kind and friendly person, she always had a smile on her face and never met a stranger. She will be remembered and missed by many.
Margaret is survived by her devoted husband, Roger, two siblings: John Bryceland and Dorothy Makfinsky, as well as four step children: Susan Hill and her husband Tom of Far Hills, NJ, Beth Devito and Rich of Mendem, NJ, and Joan Proft and her husband Steve of Mesa, AZ. As well as 13 step Grandchildren and 14 step Great-Grandchildren.
Margaret was preceded in death by two stepdaughters: Carol Carr and Ellen Weinberg.
A memorial service is pending at this time.
