Margaret M. Machinski's Obituary
MARGARET MARY MACHINSKI (SCHLEGEL)
October 18, 1942 - April 3, 2015
Our dear sweet mother, Margaret Mary Machinski (Schlegel) returned to her Heavenly Home on April 3, 2015 at the age of 72.
Maggie was born in Jersey City, New Jersey and attended St. Mary’s High School. She married Edward G. Machinski on June 13th 1964 and together raised six children. Mom was a wonderful example of unconditional love and always sought opportunities to serve others. She appreciated the small and simple things in life that often get overlooked. She enjoyed the beauty of nature, including the vibrant colors of the autumn season or the quiet serenity of walking in freshly fallen snow. Her greatest enjoyment was her family and more than anything else, she loved being a mother and had a great appreciation for children. She was considered and called Mom by many people that were the recipients of her genuine love and kindness. Through her influence and wisdom, we learned the importance of family and the role of Jesus Christ as our Lord and redeemer.
Mom had a warm embrace, a gentle touch and a welcoming smile. She had a beautiful singing voice, was a great cook, painter, spent hours at the sewing machine and enjoyed gardening. She also loved chocolate, ice cream and vanilla shakes.
Maggie was preceded in death by her parents Anne and Charles Schlegel and many loved ones. She is survived by her brother Walter, devoted husband, Edward “Pops” Machinski, 6 children and their spouses: David (Kim Cox), Edward (Cherilynn Reed), Charles (Jamie Cetraro), Christopher (Kathy Lott), Kayt (Billy Campbell) and Jennifer Anne), 7 grandchildren (Krystal, Eddie, Dave, Nick, Alexis, Mercedez and Billy) and 1 great grandchild (Christopher).
Our family would like to thank our Dad for his wonderful example of love and devotion to our Mom who never left her side during her illness. We would also like to express our appreciation to the many wonderful staff members at the Villages Hospice House and Cornerstone Hospice for the wonderful care and love they not only provided to our Mom, but our entire family. A private memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, our family has requested memorial donations to be sent in her name to Cornerstone Hospice, 601 Casa Bella, The Villages, Florida 32162. Services have been entrusted to Page-Theus Funeral Home, Leesburg, FL. On line condolences and memories may be shared by visiting www.pagetheusfuneralhome.com.
