I should have known we'd lost her when I stopped receiving my yearly Christmas letters. Boy, do I miss those. The world lost a bright light when Marcia went.
Marcia was such an amazing person. We met while attending a class at LSCC and she made quite an impression on me. During a time when funds were low, she made sure I had the fee to be inducted into Phi Theta Kappa. I had addressed a Christmas card to her and Ike this year and decided to do a search and that's how I ended up here. I wanted to tell her how much of an inspiration she was to me. I know I told her in person but I wanted her to see the end result of her inspiration - how far I've come because I had people like her in my life that encouraged me. I love you and miss you, Marcia!

We knew Marcia when she and Ike lived in Southern Illinois. We met them as customers at our gift shop but they became friends, and we enjoyed receiving their Christmas letters every year. We were deeply saddened to read Ike's letter this Christmas, sharing the news of Marcia's passing. We will always remember her passion for life, and she will be sincerely missed.

in honor of Marcia.

Marcia was a dear friend for many years(we met while my husband was stationed on Okinawa in 1984). She babysat for us many times (Alexis) and was at the baptism for our granddaughter, Taylar in 1992. Although we lived on opposite coasts whenever we traveled to Florida we visited the Jones' or met up with them for a lunch or dinner. She was a no nonsense kind of person, but if she loved you you knew it!
We miss you and will think of you often, rest easy, dear friend.

Marcia had a passion for her students, and she was a a good neighbor as well.

Our deepest sympathy and prayers for the family of Marcia. She was a great teacher, role model and mentor for many of her students. May the memory of Marcia be etched in the minds and spirits of all of her former students. She not only taught the information in her classes by passed on many life skills!

She was a great baseball fan and loved to come out to the baseball field and watch her "boys". I know that her boys will always remember her.

My deepest sympathy to Marcia's family. She was an outstanding teacher that provided more than the "regular" classroom knowledge to her students; she was able to positively mentor and counsel many of our students at LSSC. We always enjoyed seeing her at the baseball games when she had a free moment to spend, watching "her boys".

Deepest sympathy to Marcia's family. I worked with her at LSCC, and looked forward to seeing her come into the Learning Center to work with her students. They all loved her and waited for her every week, eagerly settling around a table to ask her for help and just talk and laugh. I could tell that some days she was pulling through on willpower alone but she was a great fighter and an inspiration to many. She cared about every student she met and was the best role model you could find for students and instructors both. She was an original, proud of her accomplishments and her students.

Although it has been many years since I've seen Marcia in person-I have enjoyed the long missives at Christmas that Ike so faithfully penned each year. Marcia was such an inspiration to me, so educated and so willing to take risks. She gave me great advice as we walked the pasture (otherwise known as the golf course in Spain), talked to me about her life adventures, and just generally stayed upbeat and motivated. She was truly one of a kind, and will be greatly missed.-Sue Sykes Berry
