Lula Emily DuBois' Obituary
Lula Emily DuBois, age 64, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 22, 2020 after her long and courageous battle. Lula was born on March 30, 1955 in Decatur, Illinois to Louis and Ruth (Surrell) Walter. Lula was a long-time resident of Joliet, Illinois and relocated to Leesburg, Florida in 2005. Lula lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures: chatting with friends and family, spending time with family, celebrating holidays, exploring shops and restaurants and collecting glass and gemstones. Lula retired from the career she loved in December 2018 and her ten-year position with Cutrale in Leesburg where she leaves behind many friends she loved and admired. Lula is proceeded in death by her parents and four brothers; Robert, James, Louis JR, and Raymond. Lula is survived by her husband of 46 years; Thomas DuBois and two children, daughter; Renee DuBois and husband Damaso Landor, son; Thomas DuBois Jr, six grandchildren that she adored; Raven, Michaela, Thomas III, Damaso III, Tyler and Theodore, two sisters; Juanita Walter, Ruth Walter, two brothers; Terry Walter, Ricky Walter and numerous nieces and nephews. A celebration of Lula’s life will be held at Wooten Park in Tavares, Florida on Sunday March, 8, 2020 from 2-5 PM at the Picnic Pavillion. Friends and family that wish to send flowers are asked to please send flowers that are purple in color to the celebration to honor Lula and her passion for the color.
