She was wonderful, all the time. But some of the things that have stuck with me was her unwavering support of the children’s and youth ministry, when I know she heard the negative being said around her. She “adopted” a child prayer partner the first Sunday I had the cards out, and she would get him a card and try to find him every Sunday until his family moved.
She went out of her way and always got my kids and myself gifts at Christmas. Even this last year when she couldn’t do the shopping herself, she had her granddaughter get my kids gifts ❤️
And maybe my favorite conversation was when she said that for a while she didn’t understand why people wanted newer worship music, until she attended church with family one Sunday, and saw young people raising their hands and praising God, and she decided that if newer music is how young people praised and worshiped, then she could get on board.
Lucille is loved well, and will be missed very much! And I can’t wait to see her again one day ❤️✝️️
