Louis Blau's Obituary
Louis Blau passed away on November 27, 2013 at the age of 87. He was born on February 20, 1926 in New York City to the late Moe and Sadie Blau. Louis was a long-time member and active supporter of the Glen Oaks, New York community where he lived and owned several dry cleaning businesses. He was a proud member of Bellerose Jewish Center men’s club before retiring to Lake Worth, Florida where he and Helen lived for 30 years. Lou served as president of the Lucerne Lakes Condominium Association for 17 years. Lou was a devoted brother of the late Harriet Pakula (David), and beloved brother-in-law of Irving and the late Marian Fried, and cherished uncle of Ellen, Andy, Michelle and Judy. Louis is survived by two sons; Mitchell (Lynder) Blau of The Villages, FL and Peter Blau of Manhattan, NY, and two granddaughters; Andrea and Samantha (Matt Nierman). Lou devoted his life to his family and to his friends. One of the good guys, he will be missed by many. Lou was preceded in death by his loving wife of 65 years, Helen Blau just six weeks earlier, on October 16, 2013. The two will be joined together in the family plot in Beth David Cemetery, Elmont, NY.
