Lloyd Dale Oelke's Obituary
Lloyd was born to his parents, Dale Oelke and Margaret Oelke (Ravenscroft) in La Crosse, WI. At the age of 19, January 7th, 1956, he would marry the love of his life, Lois Schafer in Onalaska, WI. They would go on to raise their three (3) daughters.
Lloyd proudly served in the United States Air Force in the Office of Special Investigations Counterintelligence (OSI). He would spend over 20 years serving his country. After his military retirement, he went to work for over 21 years at Walgreens Corporate Office/Headquarters in Deerfield, IL as a Loss Prevention Investigator.
In 1996, Lloyd retired from Walgreens and he and Lois moved from Gurnee, IL to Tavares, FL. In Tavares, Lloyd volunteered for the Lake County Sheriff’s Office and worked for Page Theus Funeral Home as a Staff Assistant.
Lloyd was a very likeable guy; he never knew a stranger. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and softball. He was also an active member of the Saint Philip Lutheran Church in Mount Dora, FL.
Lloyd is preceded in death by his parents, Dale and Margaret Oelke, brother Gary Oelke as well as Lloyd and Lois' daughter, Sherry Meyer and his son-in-law, Tim McIntyre.
Lloyd is survived by his loving wife, Lois Marie Oelke, his daughters, Sandra McIntyre and Deborah McCormick; 5 grandchildren, Kristy Carver (Mark), Jennifer Sherer (Jeff), Shannon Moseley (John), Shaunna Kemp (Chad) and Robert McCormick, and 10 great-grandchildren.
