Lloyd Ronnie Etheridge's Obituary
Lloyd Ronnie (Ron) Etheridge, a proud veteran of the United States military, passed away August 9, 2024 after a lengthy illness.
Ron was born in High Springs, FL to Iola and Lloyd Etheredge on December 5th, 1934. At the age of 18, Ron enlisted in the Air Force. The following year, Ron met the love of his life, Lula Frances Rentz, while stationed at Charleston Air Force Base. Excited to start their new lives together, the two were married four months later on December 23rd, 1954. His career with the Air Force provided abundant address changes stateside, and also relocated him and his family for tours in Greece, Pakistan and Germany. After 20 years of service, Ron retired from the Air Force and moved his family to Port St. Joe, FL where he began his second career in various private sectors of the business world. As Ron settled into retired life, he loved recounting stories of his travels, piddling in his garage and teasing those he was fond of relentlessly.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Lula Frances, his daughter, Debra (Gerald) McGee, his son, Lloyd Brentwood (Sheila) Etheridge, five grandchildren, Joseph (Kimberly) Etheridge, Jessica (Dan) Tart, Kendele (Mason) Rosado, Sarah McGee, and Lydia McGee, and seven great grandchildren. Ron was preceded in death by his brother, Clark Etheredge, and his sister, Ellen Branch, and is survived by two sisters, Jean Blackmon and Ann Copeland, and one sister-in-law, Charlie Etheredge.
A service honoring the life of Lloyd Ronnie Etheridge will be held at Page-Theus Funeral Home located at 914 W. Main Street in Leesburg, FL on Monday, August 12th, 2024 at 10:30am.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial contributions be made to the Florida Sheriffs Youth Ranches.
