Lien was one of the most beautiful souls I’ve ever had the honor of calling a friend. She was genuine to her core. She cared deeply about children and people with mental health issues. She always kept her word. She loved deeply and gave constantly to nonprofits, friends and neighbors. She was a person firm in her faith and true to her heart.
At 86 years old she cooked for me and my son, she helped us clean out my father’s house after he passed and she hugged me as I cried. She was independent, strong and vibrant.
She was also silly and fun. Her laugh was contagious, her smile ever present and her sweetness always showing. She was humble and endured more than a person should have, but always emphasized the positive.
She was a strong believer in exercise and eating healthy. She loved to cook and frequently shared her meals with neighbors, people getting out of the hospital after surgery and friends. I don’t think she ever went to someone’s house empty handed.
She didn’t value material things but reveled in nature. She loved to walk and do tai chi. A few years ago, she took my family to a sculpture garden and patiently explained the meanings to us. It was awesome!
Lien was comfortable with herself and generous with everyone. She was a true gift in this world and I’ll miss her deeply. ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
