Laura T. Fain's Obituary
With a heavy heart, we announce the passing of Laura T. Fain, of Leesburg, FL, on the 12th of February 2026.
Laura was born in Corning, NY to her parents, Warren and Beatrice Crain. She would later move to Florida in 1970 where she would call home permanently.
Laura had a long, very successful career as a Registered Nurse. From her time as Head Nurse at Lakeside Memorial Hospital in Brockport, NY, to serving as the Director of Nursing Services at Mt. Dora Health Care Center, Leesburg Nursing Center & Leesburg Regional Medical Center Nursing Center, she was, without a doubt, one of the best. She would go on to earn many awards throughout her years and had been recognized by the National Association for Directors of Nursing (NADONA), of which she was a founding member, for her outstanding service.
When she was not working, Laura enjoyed a good number of hobbies. She was often found outside, gardening, or inside reading. Many fond family memories were made gem mining and traveling. But one of her favorite past times was bowling, which she enjoyed tremendously.
Laura was preceded in death by her parents, Warren and Beatrice Crain, and her late husband, Roy Fain.
Laura is survived by her sons; Todd Meland and John Meland (Esther); three grandchildren, Kristen Brooks, Kimberly O'Brien, and Samantha Ann Meland; 2 great-grandchildren, Lilly O'Brien and Jackson Brooks; and her three dogs, Bubba, Honey & Peanut.
