Larry Dale Nicholson's Obituary
Larry Dale Nicholson age 76, Florida passed away Thursday, February 18, 2016 in Tavares, Florida. Larry spent his over 35 year career as a teacher and administrator before retiring to the Yalaha, Florida area over 20 years ago from Rockport, Indiana. He was the former Assistant Principal of South Spencer High School in Rockport. Larry was a very active member of the First Baptist Church of Leesburg where he served as a Deacon, Sunday School Teacher, and volunteered at the church’s Benevolence Center. He loved to learn and was a devoted student of the bible, and being an educator at heart he relished the opportunity to share his knowledge of God’s love with his Sunday school class at the church as well as the seniors he visited each week at area nursing homes. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed spending time outdoors on the areas lakes every chance he got. Larry will be remembered by those close to him for his faithfulness, kindness and the compassion he always displayed for others. He was a conservative person whose level head could always be depended upon to make sound decisions. Larry is survived by his daughter – Laura Jackson of Tuscaloosa, AL; his fiancé – Patricia King; and 3 grandchildren – Julie and Jenna Jackson, and Lisa Brown.
A visitation is planned for Monday, February 22, 2016 from 12:00 P.M. – 1:00 P.M. in the small chapel of the First Baptist Church of Leesburg. A funeral service will follow immediately at 1:00 P.M. with Rev. Gary Blanchard officiating.
