The One Whom My Soul Loves
By Fred Wilson for my wife Kirsten
My split apart has slipped away
My other half now flown
My better half absconded
and has left on my own
My heart song lost its melody
My lifelong love has gone
My forever love has been set free
True love taken by the dawn
My partner now departed
My mate absent my bed
My helpmate cannot help me
My bride this life has fled
My heart throb has gone silent
My lovers love denied
My happy ever after leaves me longing,
Till next we meet on the other side.
