Kirk Dennis Riegle's Obituary
Kirk Dennis Riegle, 65, Leesburg, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 17, in Tavares, Florida.
Kirk was born on January 30, 1956 in Fort Wayne, Indiana. He is survived by his mother Donna (Fred Widmann) Wadycki , sister Karen (David) Hubbs, 2 generations of nieces and nephews, many extended family members, and very close friend and caregiver, Michael Osterfeld. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Riegle.
Kirk grew up in Fort Wayne, Indiana and Downers Grove, Illinois. He received his MBA from Rosary College. Throughout his career, he worked in the Health Care Industry, mainly in supply chain management positions in Chicago, Orlando, and Miami. He was retired and moved to Leesburg in 2018, where he enjoyed exploring Central Florida, caring for his yard and home, and spending time with fellow retired friends, Chuck (Sandra), and Jim (Iris).
Throughout his life, Kirk displayed a deep devotion to all animals, and most recently cared for his 2 beloved cats, Cookie and Pnut. He was a proud American of Roman Catholic faith, and a member of Sons of the American Revolution. He never stopped learning, and his knowledge of world history was remarkable.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, August 24, at 11:30 AM in the Catholic cemetery at Lone Oak Cemetery-Mausoleum in Leesburg, Florida.
To honor Kirk’s memory, the family requests memorials be made to the Leesburg Humane Society.
