Kirby Smith O'Brien's Obituary
Kirby Smith O’Brien, 77, Leesburg, Florida went to be with the Lord on September 18, 2016 at The Villages Hospice House under the loving care of his family and staff of Cornerstone Hospice. Mr. O’Brien was born on July 28, 1939 in Albany, New York to his parents Francis D. O’Brien, DDS and Ruth O’Brien. Mr. O’Brien was a former owner of Our Lady of the Lake Groves in Howey in the Hills, Florida. He and his parents moved to Lake County over 70 years ago from Albany, NY. He was of the Christian faith and attended the University of Florida. He was a Certified Master Gardener and Life Member of the Elks Lodge in Leesburg. He was the founding member of F.O.B.S. He loved to play golf and was a devoted Florida Gators Fan. He is survived by his loving wife: Dottie O’Brien of Leesburg, FL; his loving children: Bill (Susan) O’Brien of Lady Lake, FL, Becky Craine of Leesburg, FL and Barry O’Brien of Tavares, FL; a sister: Karen (Bobby) Green of Tavares, FL; five grandchildren: Chris, Jason, Megan, Kelly and Kirby, II; fourteen great-grandchildren and many loving nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to either Cornerstone Hospice or St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, September 22, 2016 at 12:00PM at Page-Theus Funeral Home Chapel, Leesburg. A gathering will take place prior to the service from 11:00AM till the hour of service at the funeral home. On-line condolences may be shared by visiting www.pagetheus.com.
