Kathryn M. Crabtree's Obituary
Kathryn M. Crabtree was called home to the Lord on Friday, Sept. 13, 2013 at the age of 82. She was born on April 16, 1931 in Colquitt County, GA to the late Leon and Rena McCovery. Kathryn lived in the Orlando area for many years where she attended the Florida Shores Baptist Church, but has made her home in Lake County since 2000. She was known for being a good mother and a gracious lady, who enjoyed needlepoint and studying genealogy. Kathryn was involved in many different organizations such as; the Order of the Eastern Star, where she was the Worthy Matron in Orlando in 1983, currently 1st. Vice Regent of the daughters of the American Revolution. She also served as a past president of the Beaucient in Orlando, and was a local member in Belleview, and also was a member of the United Daughters of the Confederacy. Kathryn is survived by one son; Olin A. (Lisa) Crabtree Jr. of Niceville, FL, four daughters; Brenda (Glenn) Kingrey of Florissant, CO, Rachel Maree of N. Charleston, SC, Carolyn (Preston) Daniels of St. Cloud, FL, and Marilyn Ramer of Leesburg, FL. She is also survived by a brother Durell McCovery of Dade City, FL, a brother-in-law, Clinton Crabtree of Wesley Chapel, FL a half sister Darsey Anderson of Tampa, FL, fifteen grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, a great-great-grandchild due in October as well as several nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Kathryn Crabtree will be held on Saturday, Sept. 21st at 7:00 p.m. in the Page-Theus Funeral Home. Visitation will be on Saturday in the funeral home from 5:30 p.m. until the time of services. There will be a graveside service held on Sunday, Sept 22nd at 2:00 p.m. in the Rose Hill Cemetery in Colquitt County, GA. The family has suggested memorials in Kathryn’s honor be made to one’s favorite charity.
