Katherine B. HalfordKatherine B. Halford, age 88 a life lone resident of Leesburg passed away peacefully on Saturday evening March 20, 2010. Mrs. Halford was a retired from the Lake County School system where she served as an Elementary School Teacher for over 30 years. She is a graduate of Leesburg High School and Florida State College for Women. She loved traveling, camping and square dancing. She was pre-deceased by her husband James "Rock" Halford. She is survived by a daughter Katherine "Kathy" A. Halford and nephew and niece Rick and Sarah Hershey, nieces Charlene Barrett, Bettis Ann Richister, and Maree Shay, and two loving pets "Pretzel and Flower". Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, March 24, 2009 at the Christ United Methodist Church Beverly Shores with the Rev. James Holden serving as Officiant. Interment will follow immediately at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Leesburg.The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to: The Humane Society, Alzheimer's Association, Leesburg Public Library, or the Christ United Methodist Church.
