Julius "Jiggs" Zamierowski's Obituary
Julius “Jiggs” Zamierowski, entered eternal rest on Saturday, April 26th, 2025, at his home in Leesburg, Florida.
Jiggs was born in Newark, New Jersey to his parents, Julius John Zamierowski Sr. and Anna Liskowitz.
He would go on to earn both a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from MIT and a master’s degree from Stevens Institute of Technology. Afterwards, he then found work with Western Electric, Bell Labs and AT&T. where he spent over 30 years before retiring.
An avid sportsman, Jiggs enjoyed skiing, tennis and spending summers in Rangeley, Maine. When asked, his friends and family are quick to inform you he has a PHD in bridge and chess. He was the director and taught bridge at several bridge clubs in Massachusetts and Florida. He also served as a chairman of the AT&T Postal Chess Club.
Jiggs is preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Vincent Zamierowski and sister-in-law, Anne Marie.
He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Barbara Pepper Zamierowski; his stepchildren, Mark Coleman, Kim Oliver and Molly Frati; his sister, Nancy Zamierowski, nieces Sandra Estabrook, Jennifer Woodard, nephews Paul and Stephen Zamierowski.
