Judy Ann Poyner's Obituary
Judy A. Poyner, 80, of Leesburg, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 18, 2025, at Elders of Mount Dora Assisted Living after a long fought battle with dementia. She was born July 26,1945 in Detroit, MI to Bernard "Bud" and Dorothy Roberts. She married John Poyner on July 27, 1968 and worked as an electronic assembly worker where she made many life long friends. Upon retiring she enjoyed living in northern Michigan until the Florida weather beckoned her south. Judy truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures; chatting with friends and family, snacking on chips and ice cream, going to all the local flea markets and especially spending hours combing her favorite beach on Marco Island looking for shells. Judy had an uncanny ability to connect with anyone and everyone she met and especially enjoyed patrolling the neighborhood on her golf cart with her dog, looking for someone to chit chat with. She is preceded in death by her brother Butch, her parents and her eldest son, Skip. She is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, John; her children: Bud, Nance and Tracy, Her grandchildren; Dustin, Buddy, Eddy, Tyler and Dane, her great grandchildren: Buddy Jr., Maren and Jordan, her sister Patti(Paul) Giordano, her sister Debbie(Joel) Halliday, her sister Pam(Gerry) Kropf, her brother Jim(Terry) Roberts, her beloved aunt Francis, her dear cousin Beverly; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
