Josephine Mary Torres Palmer's Obituary
Josephine Mary Torres Palmer passed peacefully in her home on February 18, 2022, in Clermont, FL. She was born to Joseph and Josephine Torres (already waiting for her) in Elkton, Michigan, on November 16, 1944. She was 77.
Loved ones that will miss Josie until they meet again are her husband, Jamie; her daughter, Cynthia; her son and daughter-in-law, Nicholas and Ana; her grandfurries; her brother, Hank (Diane); and her sisters Mary (Norm), Theresa (Bob), and Rosie (Wayne). Her siblings who went before her are her brothers Joe and Tony (Arlene, who is still with us); life-long friend Jim Grannel; along with her sister, Carmen and long time friend, Karen Sauve.
Josie Palmer was a loyal friend, devoted wife, and an unconditional mother. Cocktail hour was her time to shine and she was the consummate hostess. Her parties and dinners were well prepared, well presented, and well attended. Voted by her children’s friends as the best second mom and a family favorite among her nieces and nephews, Josie always made time and treated the next generation with a special kindness, individual consideration, and that unconditional acceptance her own mother embodied. She was a wonderful partner and helped to bring out the best in her husband, James. Together they brightened many lives. All of these facts are testament to Josie Palmer and a life well lived.
Josie was the founding member of the Beautiful Club and will forever be its Queen. She taught us that being beautiful inside is as important as outside. That beautiful is also a state of mind and a manner of being. That despite our flaws and insecurities and status, we can still be beautiful cordial human beings in life.
At Josie's request, she will be cremated. A future memorial is in the works. Instead of flowers, why don't you make someone feel special and loved, just like Josie did while she was with us.
