Joseph A. Sliteris' Obituary
Joseph A. Sliteris age 78, passed away Monday, August 24, 2015 at his residence. Joseph was born in Lithuania, and moved to the Leesburg area over 10 years ago from Lindenhurst, Illinois. He was an industrial engineer and spent over 30 years with the Johns Manville Corporation which manufactured roofing products. Joseph attended the University of Illinois and went on to receive his Bachelor’s degree from Rutgers University. He was a member of the Monarch Golf Club at The Royal Highlands in Leesburg, Florida. Those closest to Joseph will remember him as a wise, patient, thoughtful, and resourceful man who was steady and even keeled no matter the situation. He was happiest when he was reading a great science fiction novel or playing golf. He was also an accomplished guitarist and painter. Joseph leaves behind to honor his memory two sons – Ray (Joselynn) Sliteris of Alexandria, Virginia; and Mark (Jessica) Sliteris of Rockford, Illinois; and seven grandchildren – Mika, Kyra, Ava, Christian, Mia, Ela, and Jacinth. All arrangements are under the careful direction of Page-Theus Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Leesburg, Florida.
