Joseph Larry May's Obituary
It is with great sorrow that we announce the death of our father Joseph “Larry” May, 72 of Floral City, Florida.
Upon taking his final breath Dad was reunited with his firstborn son, “Jody” Joseph Larry May Jr, his parents Robert Winston May and Francis Morrow May, his siblings Donna Irene Loman, Phyllis Ann Sullivan and Donald Richard May, grandson Doniven James Stuebe and great grandson Cade William Conner.
Dad leaves behind 5 children “his horses even if we never win a race” Michael Garren Chambers (Michelle) of W. Columbia, SC; Melissa May Bouresslan (Nidal) of Greensboro, NC; Chasidy Michelle Chavis (Cedrick) of Jamestown, NC; Aaron Keith May (Wendy) of Lexington, NC; Crystal Michelle Stuebe (Clinton) of Inverness, FL; and 11 grandchildren, Joe Knight (Jody), Nicholas Bolden & Hailey Griffith (Melissa), Shyanne Stuebe & Hayden Stuebe (Crystal), Jayden Chavis, Makayla Chavis & Adalynn Chavis (Chasidy), Trevor Chambers, Tyler Chambers & Tristan Chambers (Garren) 2 sisters Lynda May Sackett and Debbie May Messer (Ted) and brother Robert Winston May Jr along with 2 great granddaughters, Journee and Jennifer Stuebe (Doniven).
Dad was also well loved by his many nieces and nephews.
While our father had many talents, he truly enjoyed working with his hands. He was quick to lend a hand and spent much of his free time in his healthier years working on various home renovation projects for friends and family. He enjoyed horseshoes (sometimes with a friendly wager) and was always ready to give anyone a run for their money in a game of cards. Perhaps the most notable of his attributes was his quick wit and ability to apply humor into almost any situation. His jokester ways (“don’t do anything I wouldn’t do”) will be missed by everyone who knew and loved him.
Our family will receive friends and loved ones at Page-Theus Funeral Home located at 914 West Main Street, Leesburg FL, 34748 from 6-7 PM on Friday March 4th.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday March 5th at 10 AM at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens located at 1901 County Road 25-A, Leesburg, FL 34748.
