John Wesley Purdy's Obituary
John Wesley Purdy, 58, Palmetto, Florida passed away peacefully on September 16, 2013 at his residence under the loving care of his family and the staff of Hospice. Mr. Purdy was born on May 2, 1955 in Ypsilanti, Michigan to his parents Merle and Roberta Purdy. Mr. Purdy was a retired Employee for Manatee County Government with over 24 years of service. He was of the Christian faith and a veteran of the U.S. Navy as well as being a long time resident of Manatee County. He enjoyed fishing, jet skiing, boating and golfing but most of all being surrounded by his loving family. He is survived by his loving wife of 17 years: Cynthia Purdy of Palmetto, FL; three sons: Christopher Purdy of Palmetto, FL, Ryan Purdy of Palmetto, FL and Cory Purdy of Bradenton, FL; a brother: Michael (Lisa) Purdy of Murphy, NC; a sister: Regina Freemon of Columbus, MS and several nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, September 21, 2013 at 11:00AM at Skyway Memorial Gardens Cemetery Chapel in Palmetto, FL.
