John Pitino's Obituary
John Pitino passed away on Wednesday, May 30, 2012 at the age of 82. He was born on October 23, 1929 in Skaneateles, NY to the late Emmanuele and Rosalia Pitino. John served his country in the U.S. Navy in the Korean conflict, and worked for General Electric Corp. until his retirement. In 1986 he moved to south Florida where he made his home for many years, and moved to the Lake County area in 2005. Locally he attended services at St. Paul’s Catholic Church. John was a member of the V.F.W. the Plantation Bocce Ball League, but his greatest love was just being a grandfather. He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years Mary Pitino of Leesburg, FL daughters; Tinamarie and son-in-law Joseph Mahon of Clermont, FL, and Debra Pitino & Tom Murphy of Leesburg, FL. John is also survived by his three grandsons; Joseph and his wife Christina, Justin and Jason Mahon, a sister; Mary Ruggeri of Florida, and a brother; Sal Pitino of Waterbury, CT. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, June 4, 2012 at 8:30 a.m. in the Catholic Community of St. Paul’s Church. Visitation will be at the Page-Theus Funeral Home on Sunday, June 3, 2012 from 1:00 until 4:00 p.m. The family has suggested memorial contributions in John’s honor be directed to the American Cancer Society.
