John G LeMay's Obituary
John G. LeMay passed away on February 27, 2023. He was born in Nice, France to his beloved parents Pierre Georges Galley and Yvonne Marie Hautot.
John graduated from the American University in Washington, DC in 1963, with a BS in Public Administration. Attended Baltimore City College High School with the Class of 1954.
John served in the U.S. Army from 1958 to 1961 with the 508th Military Police Battalion in Munich, Germany. In addition to his military duties, he was also assigned as a translator for several NATO exercises in France.
John gained a lot of practical experience working while attending college for several large organizations. In 1969, he joined Air Canada and progressed rapidly, becoming an Airport Supervisor, Personnel Supervisor, and Personnel Administration Manager. In 1983, he was transferred to New York with responsibilities in Personnel Services such as Payroll and Benefits for all Air Canada employees nationwide in the US. .John returned to Florida in 1994 locating in Tampa, FL. During his career, John traveled extensively throughout the US and Canada.
He elected to retire in 2001, and resided in Yalaha, FL, enjoying the life of a retired gentleman. He loved his garden, redoing his home and entertaining his friends.
John was gregarious, loved people and music. Was a fearless worker and constantly on the go. He was an avid computer communicator with his friends, and was very intuitive in his perception of people.
He was predeceased by his brother and sister, and his beloved dog Princess. John will be missed by his nieces and nephews and friends and neighbors.
