John Frey's Obituary
John Robert Frey, age 90, of Leesburg, Florida passed away on November 23, 2019 with his loving family by his side. John was born in Battle Creek, Michigan on September 17, 1929 to the late Goldie and Harold Frey. John has proudly served his country by joining the United States Air Force in 1947. He moved to Florida in 1987 and settled in Leesburg in 2001. John has been married to the love of his life Karen since 1971. He was an amazing husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, great-great-grandfather, and friend. John was passionate about his longtime career as a machinist, and he worked for Clark Equipment for 30 years. After retiring from Clark Equipment, John was employed by Budweiser. When he wasn’t working, he enjoyed golf, camping, flying radio control airplanes, and flying; the highlight of his life was flying a dual control P-51 Mustang, and spending time with his family. John was preceded in death by his parents, Goldie and Harold Frey, his previous wife and mother to his children; Bonnie Frey, and his brothers; James Frey, LD Frey, Gerald Frey.
John is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, of Leesburg, FL; his children; John Frey Jr., Deborah Finney, Nancy Steed, Chris Frey (Tracy), his sister; Marjorie Maugherman, his brother-in-law; Eugene Brodock, his grandchildren; Kenneth Frey, Becky Frey, Kimberly Borgman, Andrea Mathis, James Finney, Lori Malinowski, many great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
