Howey-In-The-Hills – John T. Aull of Howey-In-The-Hills, FL died peacefully at home on November 3, 2021. Age 82. Beloved husband of Mary Ellen Aull (nee McGlinn) of Howey-In-The-Hills, FL. Loving father of Amanda Murakami (Keith) of Harleysville, PA; Stephen Aull of Brooklyn, NY; Laurie Aull (Coleen) of Seattle. Devoted Step-father of Stephen and Stephanie Piermont. Dear brother of Kathleen Walmsley (nee Aull) of Decatur, GA. John is predeceased by his loving parents Jack Aull and Helen Aull (nee Rowe) of Rutledge, PA.
John was a devoted husband, father, and brother. He started his career as a bricklayer with Kelly for Brickwork under the tutelage of Ernie Rotondo, and working side by side with cousin Jim “Cricket” Reeder. He worked his way up to part ownership of the company. He had a lifelong love of the outdoors; hunting with his bird dogs, fly fishing, birding with his three children and son-in-law, Keith, and gardening. John enjoyed travelling with family and friends, especially trips to: the Pacific Northwest for his daughter’s wedding celebration; China with wife, Mary Ellen, and step-son, Stephen; Spain with dear friends Maureen and Mike McConnell; and Hutchinson Island with his best friend, Joe Grace and sister-in-law, Carol. John worked in his garden to the very end, planting flowers and laying a beautiful brick wall and stone around his birdfeeders.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Cornerstone Hospice. For more information please visit cornerstonehospice.org/the-foundation/.
