Johnny Alisi was my brother in law for 62 and a half years. He planned fish fries, cruises, and camping trips that Mark and I went to with him and Nan. Every detail was planned and written down. His plans were always complete with surprises, laughs, blessings and prayers. We had more fun than we could imagine. One memory that stands out in my mind is the four of us heading to the Keys to camp. With 10 miles left to go, the gas tank in Johnny’s car was showing empty. There were no stations on that stretch. Nan, Mark and I could only think of the 10 miles we were going to have to walk when the car quit running, but Johnny wasn’t worried a bit. He told Nan, “I know exactly how far below empty my car can go before it runs out…” . None of the 3 of us said a word, we were too nervous, but not Johnny! He was singing and laughing the whole way. We finally rolled into the station up to the pumps and the car stopped just short of the the reach of the hose. We had to rock the car up a little to fill it up. We loved Johnny, his expressions and excitement when he was telling fishing and hunting tales. Most of all I will always remember how he loved his family, friends and his faith and love of God. He will truly be missed.
