Joan Ruth Schwegman's Obituary
Joan Ruth Schwegman, 82, passed away on September 08, 2015. Joan was born on November 18, 1932 in Hamilton, Ohio to her parents Floyd and Ruth Hughes. Joan was born and raised in Hamilton, OH and then later moved to Florida with her husband Walter in 1992. Joan was an Elementary School teacher for over thirty years and was the founder of the first West Point Parents Club. She graduated from Miami University of Oxford, Ohio with her Bachelor’s degree. She was a determined women who enjoyed gardening, landscaping, and the outdoors. Joan also enjoyed watching pro golf, tennis, and was an all-around sports fan. Joan Ruth Schwegman is survived by her loving husband of 61 years: Walter Schwegman, of Leesburg FL; Sons: Craig (Monica) Schwegman, of Waterford, PA and Gregory (Regina) Schwegman, of Hamilton, OH; Brother: Norman Hughes, of Eaton, OH; Grandchildren: Craig and Sarah Schwegman; and Lifelong Friends: Fred (Shirley) Blake, of The Villages, FL. Joan was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend who will be deeply missed by many. A gathering will be held on Saturday September 12, 2015 from 9:00AM – 10:00AM at Page-Theus Funeral Home.
