Joan was a loving and intelligent grandmother. When visiting her in Florida, I remember observing her complete the daily crossword puzzle without the aid of the internet. When she would take a break and walk away, I would look at the crossword puzzle and ponder how she knew the answers; as I would only know one or two without having to consult the internet. I also remember Grandma having extensive knowledge of classical music. There were even times when she helped me understand sheet music when I was learning how to play the clarinet in grade school. She would even share about her current experiences assisting in community plays and would tell me about the latest play in which she would play the piano.
Many fond memories were created when visiting Grandma, as family would always gather at her house or a nearby relatives’ house. Between visiting with her at her house, taking a cruise, walking along Tarpon Springs or the nearby beach, many great memories were created with Grandma and the rest of the family.
As I mentioned in the beginning, Joan was a loving grandmother who shared her joy with not only her grandchildren but also the community. She will be missed and continued to be loved as she begins her next adventure.
