Jean Marie Vaughan's Obituary
Jean Marie Vaughan, of Groveland, FL, passed away on July 11, 2023, a day after her 90th birthday. Jean was born on July 10, 1933, in Utica, NY to her parents; Lyndon Charles and Helen Louise (Price) Cullen.
Jean was of the Catholic faith and moved to Florida as a teenager. She married her husband, Richard in 1974 and they had 44 years together until his passing in 2018.
Jean was an animal lover and a member of the ASPCA. She enjoyed spending her time tending to the many animals on her farm, including several stray animals she took wonderful care of, as well as landscaping. Jean was everyone's mom at the racetrack. She also loved to create beautiful driftwood artwork and knit. Jean adored watching all her nieces and nephews grow especially the three youngest as they always put a huge smile on her face and she was proud of them all.
Jean will be remembered fondly for being a caring person and always telling it like it is.
Jean is survived by her sister-in-law, Kathleen Cullen of Clinton, NY, nieces and nephews; Michelle Burkle and her partner Jay, of Groveland, FL, Robert Cullen Jr. (Tammy) of Vernon, NY, and Michael Cullen (Tracey) of Clinton, NY. As well as great nieces and nephews; Brian Burkle Jr. (Courtney), Amanda Burkle (Tyler), Madison Cullen (Josh), and Zachary Cullen (Carley), and great-great nephews; Brian Burkle III, Bricen Burkle, and Ethan Reichert. And of course her beloved Dog Tippy and Horse Rocket.
Jean is preceded in death by her parents, a brother; Robert Cullen Sr., and her closest and dearest cousin; Harry Kaelin.
There will be no calling hours and a burial at the convenience of the family.
