James Wade Turentine's Obituary
James Wade Turentine, passed away Thursday July 5, 2012 at his home in Plantation. Born June 19, 1938 in Childress, Texas, son of John Carrol and Willie Mae Turentine. James was a member of the US Air Force from 1958-1962. He then graduated from the University of Missouri-Rolla with a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering. He spent the majority of his career working for Western Electric/AT&T in Lee’s Summit, MO, and finished his career in Orlando, FL, with Lucent Technologies. James was a sports enthusiast and spent most of his time playing softball, pickleball, tennis, weightlifting, and golfing. He served on and chaired various committees in the Methodist Church in Lee’s Summit, Mo (Aldersgate UMC) and Orlando, FL (Peace UMC). James was an active member of the Morrison UMC in Leesburg and worked as the maintenance director from 2005-2006To cherish his memory he leaves his wife Patricia C Thompson of Leesburg, FL; his son Justin Turentine and wife Mariah Turentine; Grandson Tanner Turentine; granddaughter Taylor Turentine all of Lone Jack, MO; two brothers, Benny Turentine of Rogers, AR; Kenneth Turentine of Springdale, AR.The memorial service will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Tuesday, July 10, 2012 at Morrison United Methodist Church, 1005 W.
