James Vincent McCarthy's Obituary
James Vincent McCarthy passed away comfortably on July 18,2025 after a brief illness. Jim, Sir James, or Jim Bob as he was known by some, was born on August 23,1935 in New York City. At a young age he moved to Sargeant St. in Hartford Connecticut and attended Hartford Schools where he excelled in scholastics. Jim served in the Connecticut National guard in the 1950's. His first job was at G Fox and Co. and later The Connecticut Bank and Trust Company where he retired from in 1990 after over 30 years. Jim retired to Sarasota, Florida and then moved to Highland Lakes in Leesburg, Florida in 1998. Jim Loved nature as he was a member of the Audubon Society, enjoyed playing bridge, dining out, was deeply in to classical music, volunteered in the community and sang in the Highland Lakes Chorus for over 20 years. Jim was generous and caring and was always there to help others. Jim is predeceased by his mother Catherine McCarthy, his aunt Ellen Coughlin, and his friend of many years Warren Ouellette. Sir James leaves behind his friend David Futterlieb of Leesburg, Florida. Jim will be laid to rest at Mt St Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield, CT
