Jakab Zoltan of Center Hill, Florida went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 17, 2026.
Born in 1938 in Ugod Village, Hungary, Jakab lived a life defined by courage, resilience, and unwavering determination. As a young man, he bravely fought in the 1956 Hungarian Revolution as a Freedom Fighter. Following the uprising, he was forced to leave his homeland in search of freedom, ultimately finding refuge in the United States—a country he would proudly call home.
Jakab settled in New Brunswick, New Jersey, where he built a new life and met his future wife, Roberta. Together, they later relocated to Central Florida, where they continued to grow their family and pursue new opportunities.
A man of many talents and passions, Jakab dedicated himself to service and community. In New Jersey, he served honorably as a volunteer firefighter with North Brunswick Engine Company No. 3, rising to the ranks of Assistant Chief and Company Chief. His commitment to helping others carried into every chapter of his life.
After moving to Florida, Jakab became a successful entrepreneur. He was the President and co-owner of Green Grass Irrigation in Leesburg, Florida, and played a key role in founding and operating several other business ventures.
Jakab’s life was also marked by discipline and mentorship. A second-degree black belt and certified instructor in Tae Kwon Do, he opened a local dojo where he dedicated his time to teaching and uplifting underprivileged youth, instilling in them confidence, respect, and strength.
In addition to his many accomplishments, Jakab was a private pilot who found great joy in flying and in serving others whenever he could. He will be remembered as a man of faith, strength, generosity, and a deep love for his family and community.
Jakab is survived by his son, Lloyd Jakab Zoltan; his daughter-in-law, Emily Raber-Zoltan; his beloved grandson, Chase Logan Zoltan; and Anna Nelson, Chase Zoltan’s girlfriend.
His life was a testament to perseverance, freedom, and the pursuit of a better future. He leaves behind a legacy of courage, service, and love that will continue to inspire all who knew him.
