Jack Darrell Sawyer's Obituary
Jack D. Sawyer is absent from the body and present with the Lord! After a long struggle with cancer Jack Sawyer age 74 passed away Sunday, August 8, 2010 surrounded by his loving wife and children. Jack was born in Nantahala, NC and moved to Orlando in 1958. He was a car dealer and owned and operated Jack Sawyer’s Garage and Body Shop in the Pine Hills area for 46 years. He loved restoring antique cars and serving his customers, but more than that he loved his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and used every opportunity to share his faith with those he came into contact with. He joyfully taught Sunday school for 45 years in several churches in the Orlando area. He was a published author and successful businessman, but his proudest accomplishment was helping his children and family and friends to establish a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. He is survived by: Wife: Genevieve Sawyer Daughters: Robin (Brad) Steele – Gainesville, FL; and Julie (Jeff) Dern – Apopka; Son: J. David (Dana) Sawyer – Longwood, FL; Brother: Richard (Peggy) Sawyer – Alabama; Sister: June (Henry) Tallon – North Carolina Grandchildren: 7 A celebration of Jack’s life will be held on Wednesday, August 11, 2010 at 11:00 A. M. at the First Baptist Sweetwater, Longwood, FL with interment immediately following at Lakeside Memory Gardens, Eustis, FL. Visitation: The family will receive friends from 10:00 A.
