Mrs. Hazel M. Stockdale's Obituary
Hazel M. Stockdale, 80 of Fruitland Park, went to be with the Lord on June 28, 2013 in Fruitland Park, Florida. Mrs. Stockdale was born on March 25, 1933 to Thomas and Hannah McKinnies in Broughton, IL. She attended Indiana University where she earned a Bachelor’s of Science and a Master’s of Arts degree. After that, Hazel attended Wabash University where she then earned her Doctorate in Education. Shortly after Mrs. Stockdale pursued her teaching career and started teaching at Morton High School in Hammond, IN. She was a member of Eagles Nest Southern Baptist Church in Fruitland Park and was actively involved in the Women’s Missionary Union. Hazel had a passion for reading and enjoyed traveling with her husband Quincy, visiting places like Europe and Israel. She is survived by her loving husband of 62 years: Quincy O. Stockdale of Fruitland Park, FL; Daughter Deborah Ann (Kenneth) Pitts of Hammond, IN: Granddaughter; Shannon (Aaron) Nascimento Of San Jose , CA : and Great Grandson Nathan Nascimento. A Visitation will be held on Monday July 1, 2013 from 9:00am to 11:00am at Page-Theus Funeral Home, Leesburg, FL with the funeral service following at 11:00am.
