Harry Patrick Petersen's Obituary
Harry Patrick Petersen age 78 passed away Saturday morning, Oct. 8, 2011 at the Cornerstone Hospice House, Tavares, Florida. Mr. Petersen worked as a Mechanical Engineer for over 40 years before retiring in 1996. He was born in Cranford, NJ and moved to the Leesburg area in December 2010 from New Jersey. He proudly served his country in the U. S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict and remained active with the U. S. Coast Guard Auxiliary for over 25 years and joined Flotilla 43 when he moved to the Leesburg area. He was active his entire life and enjoyed bowling, boating, golf, waterskiing, and scuba diving, but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his wife and family. He is survived by his loving wife of 20 years Jenney; 4 Sons – Glenn Petersen of Baltimore, MD; Gregg Petersen of Scottsdale, AZ; Stephen and Brian Young both of Fairton, NJ; A daughter – Wendy Sherker of Hope Hull, AL; Sister – Julia Frankie of Abingdon, MD; 9 Grandchildren – Glenn, Gerad, Caitlin, Joseph, Allison, Skyler, Melissa, Justin, and Andrew; and 5 Great-Grandchildren. A Memorial Service celebrating Harry’s Life is scheduled for 10:00 A. M. – Thursday – October 13, 2011 at the Page-Theus Funeral Home, Leesburg, FL his longtime friend Fr. Harry Collins will serve as Officiant.
