Harriet Lerom Madson's Obituary
Harriet Lucine Lerom Madson, 92, of Leesburg, FL, (formerly of Port St. Lucie,
FL) passed away at her residence on November 24, 2021.
Harriet was born July 29, 1929 in Grand Forks, ND to Oscar Siever Lerom and
Alice Lerom, née Aune. She was an active member of St. Andrew’s Evangelical
Lutheran Church of America (ELCA) of Port St. Lucie and the Women of the
ELCA. She was a devoted homemaker for her husband and six children, a lifelong
avid reader, a beloved grandmother, and the greatest lefse maker this side of the
Atlantic.
Harriet is survived by her adoring husband of 72 years, Romund Andrew Madson
of Leesburg, FL; four of her children and their families: the Rev. Gail Madson of
Leesburg, FL, Alea Collins and her husband Rick of Seattle, WA, Karen Peterson
and her husband David of Bear, DE, her daughter-in-law Judy Madson of
Suwanee, GA, and John Madson and his wife Kris of Cary, NC; 10 grandchildren;
dear friend Dena Hornby; and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Harriet was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter Katherine Madson, MD,
her son Rolf Madson, and her sister Janet Nelson.
A Memorial Service will be held on January 17, 2022 at 1:00PM at Page-Theus Funeral Home, Leesburg, Florida with Pastor Randy Kennedy Officiating. The family has requested donations be made to St. Andrew’s Lutheran Church at 295 NW Prima Vista Blvd, Port St. Lucie, FL 34983 in honor of Harriet’s memory.
