Harold Resnick's Obituary
Harold Resnick, age 87, passed away on Tuesday, November 24, 2015. Born in New York City, Harold was a Florida resident since 1975 and moved to Leesburg in 2013. He was a proud veteran of the U. S. Navy, and a Master Mason. He worked many years in the men’s garment industry in New York City as an accountant before moving to Florida to become the Financial Director of the Fort Lauderdale Airports, a position he held for over 15 years before retiring.
Harold was respected as kind and sensitive, a person with a dry wit who sincerely cared about others and was always willing to help when there was a need. Harold and his wife, Lorraine, traveled the world. He truly loved his experiences sightseeing some of the most spectacular places on earth, with his visit to the Taj Mahal being his favorite. He loved all of the arts and enjoyed museums, but most of all he had a passion for the dramatic arts. His dramatic performances spanned most of his life, beginning in high school. He was known for his beautiful tenor voice, and, even during his illness, was heard humming and singing his favorite tunes, “Danny Boy” and “I Got Rhythm.”
Survivors include Lorraine, his high school sweetheart and loving wife of 68 years; children – Karen (Charles) Martin of The Villages, Florida; and Richard (Naomi) Resnick of Rockville, Maryland; grandchildren – Stacy (Kurt) Vanderhorst, Deborah Resnick, and Ilana (Jonathan) Seibald; and 4 great-grandchildren – Leah, Maya, Matthew and Emily.
A funeral service for Harold will be held at 2:30 PM, Sunday, November 29, 2015 at the Page-Theus Funeral Home, 914 West Main St. (downtown) Leesburg, Florida, with Rabbi Karen Allen officiating. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Leesburg, Florida.
