Harold Arthur Dougherty's Obituary
Harold Arthur Dougherty passed away on Monday, April 25, 2011 at the age of 83. He was born on January 3, 1928 in Manhattan, NY to the late Charles and Myrtle Dougherty. Harold served his country in the U.S. Navy during WWII, aboard the USS Adirondack with the Pacific Fleet. From 1951 until 1978 Harold distinguished himself in uniformed service to the Secret Service, protecting seven different Presidents. He was an avid stamp collector, obtaining many different stamps from the White House mail room. Together Harold and his loving wife Lola Dougherty, had made their home in the Leesburg area for the last 8 years, moving here, from the Hyattsville, MD area. He is survived by his wife, and one daughter, Tracey Dougherty, both of Leesburg, FL. A private service will take place at the family plot in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.
