Grace Carol Tracy's Obituary
Grace Carol Tracy age 85 passed away Monday, March 6, 2017 in Tavares, Florida. Grace was born in Lisbon Township, Minnesota and moved to the Eustis, Florida area in 1982 from Rochester, Minnesota. Those closest to her remember her always happy demeanor, big smile and sharp witty comments. She had a career as a Registered Nurse that spanned over 31 years working in operating rooms, orthopedics, obstetrics and pulmonary areas through the years. She spent her last 14 years at working in Obstetrics at Waterman Hospital when it was located in Eustis, Florida. Finally retiring in 1996. She truly loved working in healthcare and cared deeply about humanity and touched so many lives that many years’ later patients would remember her wherever she went. She was recognized by Who’s Who of American Nursing, and was a member of the Christian Nursing Association, and the Christian Nurses Fellowship where she once served as President of the association. She was a long time and active member of the Grace Baptist Church, Eustis, Florida. She loved to sing, read the bible and had a strong and deep relationship with her God. In later years she enjoyed playing bingo and making bird houses, but nothing made her happier than spending time with her family (extended family) and grandchildren. She is survived by her daughters – Bemgecha Hicks of Leesburg, FL; and Bonnie (Matthew) Cates of Mt. Dora, FL; son – Robert (Karen) Tracy of Kasson, MN; sister – Ardee Rosasco of Redwing, MN; grandchildren – Brooke and Brice; great grandchildren – Chloe and Christian; nieces and nephews - Jeanie, Mark, Chris, Paul; Debbie, Julie, and David; and cousins Lillian Hagg and Elsa Ditty..
The Family will receive friends at the Page-Theus Funeral Home in downtown Leesburg on Saturday from 12:00 PM until 1:00 PM with a Celebration of her life following immediately at 1:00 P. M. Pastor Steve Westbrook will serve as Officiant. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.
