Gloria Louise Anselmo's Obituary
Gloria Louise Anselmo passed away on Saturday, August 28, 2010 at the age of 87. She was born on January 28, 1923, in Boston, MA. to the late Frank and Rosaria Mangano. She came from a loving family of twelve children, 6 boys, and 6 girls, and she was the last survivor. Gloria was a caring and generous person, always willing to help other people. She was loved by everyone who knew her. Gloria lived a great deal of her life in California, but moved to the Lake County area over 18 years ago. During her working years she was accomplished in three different career fields. Gloria started out as a clothing designer, and seamstress, and ended her career as a secretary for the California Institute of Technology & the Jet Propulsion Laboratory. In between, she had the distinction of being the first female letter carrier for the southern California postal system. Gloria also had the distinction of having a driver’s license for over 72 years, and never received a ticket. She is survived by two children: Victor Anselmo of Tavares, and Gloria Althof of Leesburg, five grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 7, 2010 in St. Paul’s Catholic Church at 8:30 a.m. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Monday, Sept. 6, 2010 from 3:00 until 5:00 p.m. Gloria will be mourned and very greatly missed by her family and many friends. Page-Theus Funeral Home
