George Edward Wilcher's Obituary
George Edward Wilcher was born in Leesburg, Florida on February 16, 1960 to James Wilcher, Jr. and Ruby Mae Wilcher. He was the "baby brother" of four other siblings; Leon (Frock), Linda (Big Sis), Queen, Irvin (Pep).
George graduated from Leesburg High School in 1978, where he played the Tuba in the Leesburg High School Marching Band. Affectionately called "Georgie Boy" by all of his family and many of his friends, he also answered to Homeboy, Baby Boy, Bruh, Pops, Uncle George and Lil Brother.
For the past 20+ years, George made his home in Marion County were he made lasting friendships. He worked in various labor trades, while living in Ocala, but retired as a Pool Builder/installer in 2023.
He enjoyed hanging out at the Pitt or anywhere for that matter playing Spades with select partners. He listened to all genres of music and loved to dance.
George accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior late in life and admittedly knew, he had missed out on the opportunity to get to know Him on a deeper level. But, he also realized, it's was never too late with God .
"Georgie Boy" is preceded in death by both his parents, his sister (Queen Wilcher) and his brother, (Irvin Wilcher).
He leaves to cherish his memory: His son, Teddarium Deas (Teddy) Cocoa, FL and two grandsons Teddarium Deas, Jr. and Zakary Wynn, Leesburg, FL; Brother, Lindsey Leon Wilcher (Barbara) Leesburg FL; Sister, Linda Wilcher Cannon, Leesburg, FL; Best friend for all of his life, Richard Hill and a host of loving nieces, nephews cousins and close friends.
He will truly be missed.
