George Mitchell Schroeder's Obituary
George Mitchell Schroeder, 74, passed away Monday, August 7th, 2023.
George was born in San Diego, CA on December 21, 1948 to his parents, George and Marie Schroeder. He would go on the serve in the Army Reserve. He would earn a B.S. from Miami University of Oxford, OH in 1971 and his master's from Wright State University in Dayton, OH.
George would marry the love of his life, Sherry, on June 17, 1972. Together, they had a daughter, Elizabeth. The two would spend over 47 years together.
After completing his education, George would himself become a teacher. He served a total of 31 years in the school system of Centerville City, OH. 6 years as a teacher, 25 years as a principal. He also worked part-time as a police officer with the Bellbrook Police Department.
George and Sherry moved to Legacy of Leesburg in 2006 from Dayton, Ohio. Both loved to travel. Las Vegas and cruising were two of their favorite things to do.
Anyone who knows George, knows that he was an avid storyteller-whether it be serious or a story with a punchline. He could captivate any audience with his words.
George is preceded in death by his wife, Sherry Schroeder; his parents, George Mitchell Schroeder, Sr and Marie Mae Millat (Nemec); his sister, Diana Miller; and nephews Ronnie Belshe and Rick Belshe.
He is survived by his daughter and son in-law, Elizabeth and Jason Becker; 2 grandchildren, Emmalyn Becker and Kaitlyn Becker; his sister Lani (Pat) Morris; and brother-in-law, Rick (Hillary) Schmiedt.
