George Rakoci's Obituary
George Rakoci passed away on Tuesday, May 21, 2013 at the age of 90. George was born on October 17, 1922 in Davidov, Czechoslovakia to the late John and Mary Rakoci. George fought in WWII with the allied forces, was captured and held in a German prison camp until freed by U.S. forces. Later he immigrated to the U.S. and settled in NJ where he worked for many years for Con-Rail. George was a volunteer paramedic for Yardville, NJ, loved to work in his vegetable garden, and was always there to help anyone in need, especially in home improvement projects. After his retirement, George moved to the Lake County FL area where he made his home with his loving wife of 60 years; Margaret Rakoci. He is also survived by two sons; David (Maureen) Rakoci and John (Beverley) Rakoci both of Clermont, daughter; Susan (Harry) Anderson of Robinsville, NJ and four grandchildren; Jenna, Amanda, Jacob and Victoria. There will be a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, May 25, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. in the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church of Clermont. Burial will take place at a later date in the family plot. Memorials in George’s honor may be directed to the American Diabetes Association.
