George Edward Mack's Obituary
George Edward Mack, 87 of Tavares, Florida passed away peacefully on January 8th, 2010.Formerly of Ingleside, Illinois, he was born in 1923, graduated from high school in Elmhurst, Illinois and enlisted in the US Coast Guard serving in the Pacific during WWII as part of the landing force at Iwo Jima and the occupation of Japan. After the war, he worked at Globe Engraving and later RR Donnelly Corp. with his father, George Marshal Mack and his brothers Robert and Art Mack. He later became a water well contractor and continued in this business until his retirement.Known as a man with a big heart, a big laugh and devoted to his family, he was an active Mason and Shriner and member of the Lake County Shrine Club in Tavares.Preceded in death by his second wife Esther and his third wife Marilyn, he is his is survived by his children, George Jr.; Bruce; and Sandra; grandchildren, Otto; Bergen; Margaret; and Sarah and great grandchildren, Madison; and Aubrey.The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM - 1:00PM on ThursdayJanuary 13 and a Funeral Services will follow immediately 1:00PM.All arrangements are under the careful direction of Page-Theus Funeral Home 914 West Main Street Leesburg, FL.
