Gary Leroy Edgar's Obituary
Gary L. Edgar age 80 passed away Thursday, May 15, 2014 in The Villages, Florida. He was born in Washington, D. C. and grew up in Chevy Chase, MD. He Graduated from Bethesda-Chevy Chase High-School. He served his country in the U. S. Army where he studied Chinese Mandarin at the Army Language School in Monterey, CA and served in various administration posts until his honorable discharge. He moved to the Lady Lake/Fruitland Park area in 2000 from Ft. Lauderdale. He spent his working years in the banking industry as a Loan Officer and retired from Sun Trust Bank in Atlanta, GA, in 1992. He was a member of the New Life Presbyterian Church in Fruitland Park. Gary’s retirement years were full of fun with family and friends. He loved boating and spending time on the water, golfing as much as possible but most of all he enjoyed years of traveling with his wife Mary traveled throughout North America in their motorhome.
He is survived by his wife Mary, 3 sons, Mark, Charles, and John; 2 daughters, Lynn and Deborah, three grandchildren, Olivia, John, and Jason; and 9 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A. M., Saturday at the New Life Presbyterian Church in Fruitland Park, Florida Pastor Jim Keegan will serve as Officiant.
