Francis Jose "Frankie" Vazquez Velazquez's Obituary
With deep love and gratitude for a life beautifully lived, we celebrate the life of Francis Jose “Frankie” Vazquez Velazquez, who passed peacefully on May 24, 2026, at the age of 65.
Born in Frankfurt, Germany, on July 2, 1960, to Francisco Vazquez and Josefina Velazquez. Frankie was a beloved son, brother, uncle, brother in law, friend, and devoted family man whose life was defined by love, generosity, joy, and service to others. His love and devotion also extended to his two beloved dogs: Pelusa, and Lucas. They were his pride and joy!
Frankie possessed a rare gift for making people feel welcomed, valued, and cared for. Family was at the center of his heart. He loved each of us deeply and completely, and he expressed that love not only through words, but through countless acts of kindness, encouragement, hospitality, and unwavering support. Whether with family, friends, neighbors, coworkers, or even those he had just met, Frankie had a remarkable ability to make people feel at ease and genuinely seen.
Gifted with extraordinary musical talent from an early age, Frankie taught himself to play the piano, pipe organ, and possessed a beautiful singing voice that brought joy, comfort, and inspiration to countless people. Growing up in Caguas, Puerto Rico, he shared his God-given gifts at the First Baptist Church in Caguas, PR. He served as a soloist in his church choir and many musical groups such as: “Revelacion”, Latin Continental Singers. He also served as a choreographer, set designer, costume designer, stage manager, and featured soloist in several Christian musical productions. Whether leading worship, performing on stage, or simply sharing music with those around him, Frankie found great joy in touching the lives of others through song. His love of music remained one of the defining joys of his life, and those blessed to hear him sing will forever cherish the warmth, hope, and happiness he brought through his gift.
Throughout his career, Frankie chose professions centered on caring for others. He earned a degree in Physical Therapy, served for 28 years as a Flight Attendant and Purser with American Airlines, and later became a licensed hairstylist and co-owned the Hair Salon, The Cutting Room, in Miami, FL. In every role, he pursued excellence and found fulfillment in helping people feel cared for, respected, and special.
Frankie was known for his vibrant personality, infectious laughter, creativity, and appreciation for beauty in everyday life. He brought energy and warmth to every family
gathering and had a unique way of turning ordinary moments into cherished memories. His beautiful smile, sense of humor, and joyful spirit left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him.
In October of 2021, Frankie was diagnosed with Lewy Body Dementia. A progressive, neurodegenerative disease. He knew what the journey entailed, and faced it with courage, dignity, and remarkable strength. Though dementia gradually took much from him, it never diminished the love he carried for his family or the kindness that remained evident to those who cared for him. He fought bravely until the end, surrounded by the love of those whose lives he had enriched for so many years.
Frankie leaves behind a family who loved him dearly and who will forever treasure the memories, laughter, music, and unconditional love he shared so freely. While our hearts grieve his absence, we rejoice in the blessing of having known him and in the countless ways he made our lives better simply by being part of them.
A life well and fully lived. A heart that loved completely. A legacy that will endure.
He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
