Francis (Frank) Joseph Glonchak's Obituary
Mr. Francis (Frank) Joseph Glonchak, 83, of Leesburg, Florida passed away on November 9, 2023.
He was born April 22, 1940, in Superior, Wisconsin to the late Joseph and Frances (Kuchmek) Glonc'ak.
Frank was a proud Veteran of the US Army National Guard Reserves. Frank hobbies were: wood carving, tennis, golf and cross-country skiing.
Frank graduated from Cathedral Catholic High School in 1958. Then attended Superior State College for two years then transferred to the University of Wisconsin (Madison). In 1963 Frank graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. Over the next 7 years, Frank worked as a research and design engineer.
In 1970, Frank decided to a make a lifetime career change to work in the computer business. He began his new career with 3M Company as a systems programmer. Frank was able to move around the country, from Wisconsin to Lockheed Martin, Sunnyvale California (1975-1980); Brown & Root, Houston, Texas (1980-1982); and lastly GTE Data Services, Tampa, Florida (1982-1995).
Frank retired from GTE Data Services as a Database Designer in November 1995. He and his wife retired to Minocqua, Wisconsin and enjoyed the Northwoods for 24 Years. Frank was an active member of the Northwood Carvers group and of St. Anthony de Padua Catholic Church (Lac Du Flambeau, Wisconsin).
In 2019, Frank and his wife, made the decision to sell their Home up North and made the permanent move to The Plantation in Leesburg, Florida.
Frank has been an active member of St. Paul Catholic Church.
In addition to his parents, Frank is preceded in death by his brothers Peter, Andrew, and John (Jack) and his sisters Josephine Voss (Glonchak) and Ann Cogswell (Glonchak).
Frank is survived by his loving wife of nearly 55 years, Yvonne; one brother Steve (Pat); and one sister Monica; and 18 nieces and nephews.
The funeral Mass will be at St. Paul Catholic Church, Leesburg, Florida on Monday November 20th at 8:30 am. Brunch reception to follow at the Church family room.
Inurnment will be on Monday November 20th at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens at 11:00am.
Cremation Arrangements are under the direction of Page-Theus Funeral Home.
